The Best Investments Is Stocks, Bonds, IRA, Retirement?

Secure Your Retirement.

In the investment world, it is a rule that you start invest straight out of college if not sooner. And If you invest at least $100 a month starting in your early 20s, into the right IRA or stocks you can retire a millionaire! The problem is not many of us get this knowledge until later in life. If our parents don’t teach us we have to be hoping someone comes along before it’s too late to share the knowledge with us. Then we can make the right choices for a better future and even be proactive in setting things in place for our kids as well.

Throughout my financial career, I have learned although I received and understood the investment world later in age I now have enough knowledge that I can share with others especially my family and friends. So I will start by providing you with the definition of the investment types and some resources and you can play with the calculator below to get you started. Now you’re not going get it all right away but hopefully, with the links and information through this site, you will grasp on to something or someone that can help you more.

An IRA is an account set up at a financial institution that allows an individual to save for retirement with tax-free growth or on a tax-deferred basis. Stock A type of security that signifies ownership in a corporation and represents a claim on part of the corporation’s assets and earnings. There are two main types of stock: common and preferred. Common stock usually entitles the owner to vote at shareholders’ meetings and to receive dividends. Preferred stock generally does not have voting rights, but has a higher claim on assets and earnings than the common shares. For example, owners of preferred stock receive dividends before common shareholders and have priority in the event that a company goes bankrupt and is liquidated. A bond is a debt security, similar to an I.O.U. When you purchase a bond, you are lending money to a government, municipality, corporation, federal agency or other entity known as an issuer.* In return for that money, the issuer provides you with a bond in which it promises to pay a specified rate of interest during the life of the bond and to repay the face value of the bond (the principal) when it matures or comes due. Among the types of bonds available for investment are: U.S. government securities, municipal bonds, corporate bonds, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, federal agency securities, and foreign government bonds. The characteristics of several different types of U.S. bonds are described in the Bond Basics Glossary at the end of this section. Market practices described here apply to the U.S. bond market and may differ from those in other countries. Bonds can be also called bills, notes, debt securities, or debt obligations. To simplify matters, we will refer to all of these as “bonds.” – See more at http://www.investinginbonds.com/learnmore.asp?catid=46&id=2#sthash.w75lLmkR.dpufFollow us: @Investopedia on Twitter

Retirement pension fund is a common asset pool meant to generate stable growth over the long term and provide pensions for employees when they reach the end of their working years and commence retirement. www.investopedia.com/terms/p/pensionfund.asp

This is just brief descriptions of these types of investments. I will go deeper into these terms throughout my blog post. One thing I want you to think about is that you can always roll your 401k retirement funds into a Roth IRA if it’s not set up in that way already. IRAs are the best way to make your money grow at a greater amount than a regular 401k. I’ll get the difference in another post later. I hope you learned more than you knew before reading this post. Please leave your comments below. I built this blog to share knowledge therefore if there’s something you want to learn that I haven’t covered on the blog please tell me and I will gladly research it for you.
